FEVER DREAMS

Fever Dreams is a five-photo series created by Alexis Kiedaisch that explores the disorienting space between beauty and decay, where oppressive heat transforms the familiar into something strange and delirium-inducing.

Photographed in the area of Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty on the shores of Utah's Great Salt Lake, the series evokes the sensation of a landscape consumed by its own fever. Colors intensify, perspectives distort, and reality begins to dissolve beneath an imagined, relentless heat. Through experimental photographic techniques, the environment takes on a hallucinogenic quality, suspended somewhere between a mirage and a final dying dream.

The landscape feels exhausted, as though something vital is slowly slipping away. What appears vibrant may be fading. What feels alive may already be dying. The distortions become symptoms of something unseen, suggesting an environment struggling to survive.

Fever Dreams exists in this uneasy space between fascination and dread, where heat becomes both a physical sensation and a warning. The images invite viewers to question whether they are witnessing something beautiful or the final moments of something disappearing forever.
